North Macedonia withdraws from Junior Eurovision 2020!

After Wales and Australia, now MRT confirmed on their official Twitter account that North Macedonia is also withdrawing from the 2020 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which is going to be taking place in Warsaw this November. This is going to be the third time that North Macedonia is missing the contest, having previously not competed in 2012 and 2014.

North Macedonia was one of the countries that competed in Junior Eurovision from the very first contest in 2003. They took part a total of 15 times, and their best result is 5th place in 2007 with “Ding Ding Dong” by Rosica Kulakova & Dimitar Stojmenovski, and in 2008 with “Prati mi SMS” by Bobi Andonov. Last year in Gliwice, Mila Moskov represented her country with “Fire”, and finished in 6th place, bringing North Macedonia their second best result in the Contest.

13 countries have confirmed their participation in Junior Eurovision 2020. They are: Belarus, France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Spain and Ukraine. This year’s Contest is going to take place in Warsaw, on the 29th of November.
