RTSH has started preparations for Festivali i Këngës 59!

RTSH reports that preparations for the 59th edition of Festivali i Këngës have started today. They have confirmed that it will be held this year as well despite the situation created by the pandemic of Covid-19. Martin Leka, the Deputy General Director of RTSH, held the first consultative meeting with the authors which have left their mark on the festival, songwriters and musicians. Some of the issues regarding the quality of the festival were discussed and it is expected that the submission window for the authors to will be opened in September. They still haven’t revealed nor the dates when the show will take place neither the status of Arilena Ara’s participation at the festival.

Arilena has won the previous edition of the festival with the song in Albanian language “Shaj” (Shout) which was then revamped with English lyrics as “Fall From The Sky” by just 3 points ahead of the audience favourite “Me Tana” sung by Elvana Gjata.

“Me Tana” gets a second chance for the recognition of the fans as it has been selected by OGAE Albania as their entry at OGAE Second Chance Contest.
