Jan Smit among the judges of “The Voice of Holland”!
Dutch singer of schlager music Jan Smit has been announced as one of the four judges for the newest season of music show “The Voice Of Holland”
Jan is going to replace Lil’ Kleine and he is joining the former Eurovision stars which are the judges of the show Anouk (The Netherlands 2013) and Waylon (2014 and 2018) as well as Dutch rapper of Moroccan descent Ali B who is among the judges for the longest time for 8 seasons so far (out of 11 which the show had).
Jan Smit was selected to be the host of Eurovision Song Contest 2020 prior to its cancellation caused by the Covid 19 pandemic. The host along him included Edsilia Rombley and Chantal Jensen. Later on the three of them were hosting the alternative show Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light. Prior to that Jan has been one of the Dutch Eurovision commentators since 2011 but his involvement with Eurovision doesn’t stop there as from September 2016 Jan joined the Dutch group De Toppers which was representing The Netherlands at Eurovision 2009 in Moscow with the song “Shine”
In his FB and IG announcement Jan stated that it will be a great honour to be alongside Anouk, Waylon and Ali B. The Voice of Holland will be having it’s 11th edition which is set to air later in 2020 (the precise date has yet to be announced). One of the co-host of the show is Chantal Janzen.
Dutch broadcaster has yet to announce the hosts of the Eurovision 2021. But it is expected that Jan will finish his engagement with The Voice of Holland until February (which is the usual air time of the show from November until February) so he would still have time to be one of the hosts of the show if nothing changes.
