The glam metal band that represented Norway in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest – Wig Wam are back together, and sounding better than ever! After the group played together for 13 years, they split in 2014. Six years later the band members re-united, and they released their come-back single “Never Say Die”.
Wig Wam’s Eurovision story started in 2004 when they competed in Norsk Melodi Grand Prix with the song “Crazy Things”, and finished in 3rd place. Next year they entered the Contest once again, and won it with “In My Dreams”, which then went on to represent Norway in Eurovision 2005 in Kiev. They eventually finished in 9th place in the Grand Final.
After numerous hits and four studio albums (the last one being “Wall Street” in 2012), the band decided to split in 2014. Since their split, the lead singer Åge Sten Nilsen formed a new band – Ammunition, and went back to Norsk Melodi Grand Prix in 2017 with the song “Wrecking Crew” which finished in second place, just behind the winners – Joost and Alexander Walmann.
Wig Wam reunited earlier this year for the Tons of Rock festival that takes place in Oslo, and earlier today they released their brand new single “Never Say Die”. If you liked “Crazy Things”, “In My Dreams” and “Wrecking Crew”, you will definitely love “Never Say Die”! Give it a listen, and check out the video clip right here:
