Italian broadcaster RAI are organising their legendary San Remo Festival once again in 2021 and as usual there is a Campioni (English: Champions) category for established artists and a Giovani (English: Youth) category where upcoming artists get a chance.
Right now there is a contest called AmaSanremo going on with young artists competing for places in that Giovani category but today we get more news about the Campioni category: we will know who made it there next month!
Through a live broadcast on RAI 1 from the San Remo Casino, the 20 ”Campioni” will be revealed!
The ”Giovani” and ”Campioni” will all meet again during the grand festival that is planned to take place from 2 to 6 March 2021, as communicated by the Mayor of San Remo, Alberto Biancheri, and further confirmed by RAI Uno’s Deputy Director Claudio Fasulo.
The winner of San Remo 2021 gets first refusal on the Italian ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest next year.
Wether this year’s winner, Diodato, has applied again is unsure as of yet but we can still enjoy the song that has brought him massive love this year:
