Sanremo could be postponed once again!

The Municipality of Sanremo has filled a request to RAI to postpone the music festival for a month due to COVID-19 pandemic.

As we informed you in July it was announced that Sanremo will be held from the 2nd until the 6th of March 2021 but it seems like there is a chance that a plan to organise a festival a month later than usual changes once again. It is also known that the Artistic Director is once again going to be Amadeus.

The higher number of infections which occurred in recent weeks, puts everything into question, especially given the lockdowns and curfews around the country. Given that fact the Municipality of Sanremo explicitly asked RAI to postpone the Festival to the end of April, when the temperatures are likely to be higher and perhaps the expected vaccines are going to be placed in circulation.

They also mentioned that it won’t be useful for Sanremo to organise the festival if all of the places and the shops all over the city are closed as this Ligurian municipality, thanks to the Festival, has a considerable growth of budget from tourism and selling services.

It is also known that traditionally in December edition of “Sanremo Giovani” is going to take place from the Casino di Sanremo where a television studio will be set up for the final which is scheduled for the 17th of December. Two of them will also get a chance to take part in the Sanremo 2021 Festival.

Winner of Festival di Sanremo 2020 was Diodato with “Fai Rumore”, you can listen to the song below.

What are your thoughts do you think that Sanremo should be postponed or not?
