Switzerland revealed the way Gjon’s Eurovision 2021 entry has been chosen!

It is already known that Gjon’s Tears is going to be back at Eurovision 2021 as Swiss representative. A month ago on his Instagram profile he revealed that his entry is ready. Today both him and the Head of Swiss Delegation, Reto Peritz, have revealed how the procedure to find the perfect entry for Gjon went.

First stage was the songwriting camp, where thirteen songs were created, later on the production went across the continent before the songs were finally presented to a mixed-jury which consisted out of 100 Swiss residents and 20 international experts. Except assigning the points each of the members of the jury had given the internal feedback of the song. Their feedback included ideas for improvements to each entry, which later on became part of the final production for each of the thirteen songs.

After the production of all 13 songs finished, Gjon’s tears performed each entry live because it was important for them to see how each entry sounded and if they were corresponding Gjon’s voice.

Reto Peritz, Swiss Head of Delegation, revealed that he is very happy with the results and that the title of the Swiss entry for Eurovision 2021 “fits Gjon’s Tears perfectly”. In addition to that Reto confirmed that Gjon co-wrote the song. The reveal could be expected in spring, but we haven’t got a precise date announced, it is expected that information to be given further on.
