Finnish broadcaster, YLE has revealed the change of the dates when they plan to start the reveal of the artists and songs which will take part at UMK 2021.

The date of the press conference for UMK 2021 is changed from 19th of January to 13th of January and it will be held at 12:00 CET. They will be presenting the 7 finalists which is another change from the earlier announced number of 10 finalists. In addition to the names of the finalists we will also get to know the titles of the songs which will be competing for a chance to be performed at the stage of Eurovision Song Contest 2021 while we will hear the songs during the following 7 days because each song is going to be released every day starting from 14th of January and the last one is going to be released on the 22nd of January. They will be released on YLETV1 at 18:52 CET in a 3 minute music video.

It is already known that we won’t see Aksel Kankaanranta back at the contest as he didn’t apply for UMK 2021. The Final of the Finish national selection for Eurovision which marks it’s 10th anniversary next year, Uuden musiikin kilpailu 2021 is set to take place on 20th of February at Mediapolis TV studio in Tampere.
