Israeli public express its rage following Kan’s revealing of televoting results in “Hashir Shelanou Laerovizion”

On the 25th of January, the Israeli national selection took place. It featured three potential entries which were all sung by Eden Alene who was given the opportunity to represent the country this year after missing out last year’s contest due to its cancellation. The songs’ writers were revealed for the first time during the broadcast. After all songs were revealed and the voting which consisted of 100% televotes closed, “Set Me Free” was declared as the winner and as the Israeli entry for Rotterdam.

Following the results, reactions from all over Europe and Israel started popping with Israeli fans condemning the results and showing their unsatisfaction from them. They additionally asked Kan to reveal the voting results which weren’t revealed during the broadcast.

The results were as following: “Set Me Free” came first with 71.3% of the votes. “La La Love” came second with 17.2% of the votes and “Ue La La” came 3rd with only 11.5% of the votes.

After the revealing, the Israeli public once again showed its unsatisfaction blaming Kan for tricking the results and blaming it for a potential failure of qualifying to the final as they chose a weak song. Some members of the public even questioned the professionality of the members of the committee Kan assigned to choose the potential entries as all of them were much weaker than those presented to Eden for the 2020’s contest.
