Pony X: “We Want To Bring The French Touch To Eurovision!”.

Clarence (a singer from Martinique) and his friend Pony are one of the French hopefuls this year, under the name Pony X. They will hit the stage with the electro track “Amour Fou” (mad love) and agreed with answering our questions. What can you expect from such an odd duo? Well, an odd yet pleasant interview.

(translation by Gabriel)

Hi guys and thank you for answering my questions. First of all, how does it feel to be one of the 12 finalists of “Eurovision France: C’est Vous Qui Décidez!”?

Poooooony X, yeahh, let’s goooo!

Can you tell us a bit more about Pony X. What is it? A duet? A musical concept?

Well, Pony X consists of a singer, and a DJ, a completely random duet, and a…”Mad Love” .

Someday, will we get a chance to knw who’s behing the pony?

(turning their backs) But…what do you mean who’s hiding behind the pony come on! He got struck by a rainbow, it’s a pony! (the DJ nodding).

You’re already seen as the French Touch element of this year’s line up, and some event compare you to Daft Punk. What’s your reaction?

Daft Punk yeahhh, it’s good, it’s good! Well, we want to bring French Touch to Eurovision, it would immensely please us!

Why did you decide to bid for Eurovision?

Eurovision has become super trendy, and besides we have the opportunity to make a maximum of people move, it will please Pony’s mom, and yeah show me the booty Pony!

Some countries have already tried, but isn’t it risky to send a DJ act at Eurovision?

Well, you know, we’re super happy to bring French words on electro music, and we’ll try to bring French Touch to Eurovision! (Pony nodding)

Your song is called “Amour Fou” (mad love)/ hat would be your definition of a mad love?

Well, it represents us two a bit as a completely mad and random duet (Pony hugging the singer). We’re happy to bring some craziness in this story!

Do you have a special message for our readers?

Hey Ponyz (that’s the way we call our fans), follow us on social media and on TikTok, vote for us, we’ll bring a lot of craziness, and above all, “Vive la France!”, “Vive l’Eurovision!”, that’s our projeeeeeect!

“Merci”guys, and let me wish you the best of luck for the national selection final.

Thank you guys, you’re definitely the best fans in the world, and we love you with a mad love! And don’t forget… Pony XXXXXXXXX!

Me: Doesn’t literally every French person want to bring the French Touch to Eurovision?

“Merci” for your comment Rebecca. Well, just like any other music style, it cannot be unanimously loved. Some don’t appreciate “French Touch” music, even in France 😉
