Barbara Pravi speaks about her plans for her Eurovision performance!
Barbara Pravi, who won the French national selection “Eurovision France, c’est vous qui décidez” and will therefore represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, recently had an interview with the French radio broadcaster RTL, where she talked about her upcoming time in Rotterdam and gave us more details about what her performance is going to look like.
Barbara said that when it comes to planning her staging of “Voilà”, she doesn’t think about what might please the Eurovision audience and that her focus lies on being authentic, that she wants to be herself, when she’s having the opportunity to be seen on TV all over the world.
For Barbara, it is out of the question to disguise herself as somebody else for Eurovision. She is fully aware that she might take a risk with a song that is darker, than most other entries in the competition.
Here is what she said to RTL about her upcoming performance:
It’s a little nutty to propose Voilà at Eurovision, where we are used to seeing things with lots of glitter and show. But I will not disguise anything to do this show! The performance I’m going to do in Rotterdam will be the same (as in the selections), better I hope. I would be fine in black. I was offered white, I said no. Because for me, the color of Voilà, the color humility is black. I want to be me, no one will change me.
Barbara Pravi will perform “Voilà” in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on May 22nd in Rotterdam. You can watch her performance in the French national final below:
