After being selected in 2020, we’ve been reporting that Vasil Garvanliev was chosen to represent North Macedonia once again this year, while coming back with the song ‘Here I Stand’. Here’s what we know about the entry, before its release.
Vasil Garvanliev took part as a backing singer at Eurovision 2019, when he was supporting Tamara Todevska and her Eurovision entry ‘Proud’, and he was selected to experience the Eurovision once again, as a main artist in 2020, as well as in 2021.
According to his social media it seems like Macedonian team is working on Vasil’s Eurovision entry very seriously – he announced earlier that he’ll represent the country with the powerful title ‘Here I Stand‘, written by Vasil himself, when the arrangement will be the work of Davor Jordanovski and Borče Kuzmanovski.
Just like she was working as a stage director for Macedonian team in 2019, she will help Vasil as well – it’s Tine Matulessy, who’ll be Macedonian stage director at Eurovision 2021 – and according to Vasil’s Instagram – the preparations are in full swing. Tine was the Head of Delegation for Sweden at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and she also worked on the staging for Teo’s Cheesecake in 2014 and was the backstage floor manager at the Eurovision 2017. In 2009 she appeared on the Eurovision stage as a backing singer and dancer for Malena Ernman, as well.
It’s been said that the song will be premiered on the March 11th, with the help of FAME’S – Macedonian Symphonic Orchestra:
“I didn’t expect the emotional bomb that took place yesterday in the @famesproject studio. Such an HONOR to have a live orchestra to record my entry with this year. The emotion. The feels. The love. The eyes of everyone that witnessed the magic ✨ Thank you 🙏🏻,” says Vasil about his Eurovision recording session.
