Hello everyone! Good to see you in for our live-blog for the third heat of Melodifestivalen 2021!
This edition will be little different from what we’re used to from Mello. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no audience present at any of the live shows and the touring, every show in a different city in Sweden, won’t happen this year either: all shows will be held at the Annexet venue in Stockholm.
While the battle arenas won’t be changing this year, the hosts will certainly do so! One man will be with us every single week, while his co-hosts will be new faces every time.
Christer Björkman has represented Sweden at Eurovision 1992 with ‘Imorgon är en annan dag’ and turned ‘’the new Melodifestivalen’’ (with several heats and touring the cities) into a huge success is saying farewell after 20 years and he will be our anchor every week, hosting his beloved contest for the first time.
Christer’s co-host this week is Jason Diakité, better known as Timbuktu, who is an absolute legend in the Swedish music scene. A rap and reggae artist who already has hosting experience as one of the DJs at the yearly charity event Musikhjälpen.
