Welcome people, it’s already time for the fourth and final heat of Melodifestivalen 2021!
This edition will be little different from what we’re used to from Mello. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no audience present at any of the live shows and the touring, every show in a different city in Sweden, won’t happen this year either: all shows will be held at the Annexet venue in Stockholm.
While the battle arenas won’t be changing this year, the hosts will certainly do so! One man will be with us every single week, while his co-hosts will be new faces every time.
Christer Björkman has represented Sweden at Eurovision 1992 with ‘Imorgon är en annan dag’ and turned ‘’the new Melodifestivalen’’ (with several heats and touring the cities) into a huge success is saying farewell after 20 years and he will be our anchor every week, hosting his beloved contest for the first time.
Two lively people will be hosting with Christer tonight: Per Andersson, one of the biggest comedians in Sweden, who you might remember from the interrogations in the postcard videos of Melodifestivalen 2011 and our other host is Pernilla Wahlgren! Her Mello 1985 hit ‘Piccadilly Circus’ is still an evergreen and to this day she juggles too many jobs to even list here: being a singer, host, writer, actress, columnist and being a mom are among them!
