Lovad: “I think the listener will still understand me through the feeling that the song conveys”

Lovad is a newcomer to the selection and will compete this week in the last semifinal of Melodifestivalen with the song “Allting är precis likadant”. The song is written by Mattias Andréasson, Alexander Nivek, Albin Johnsén and Lovad. We we had the opportunity to talk with Lovad before the semifinal and you can check our interview down bellow.

Hello Lovad and thank you for taking you time for ESCBubble! First of all, how was your reaction when you heard you will be at Melodifestivalen 2021?

Thank you for letting be a part of your experience. It was like I left my body to be honest. When the hearing disappears and you see yourself from the outside haha. No, but I was so happy and scared. It’s almost too big to understand.

What are your expectation from the contest?

I expect it to be bigger than life. I think it will be incredibly fun and maybe I will be in a bubble. No matter what happens in the competition, it will have been incredible to have been involved.

Your song called is “Allting är precis likadant”, what it is about? And why did you choose to sing in Swedish?

The song is about a broken relationship. How to just live every day over and over again. No one is happy but no one wants to go. The reason I sing in Swedish is because I only do songs in Swedish. I think it’s nice too, to represent my country with my language. I think the listener will still understand me through the feeling that the song conveys.

How will be the staging at Melodifestivalen 2021? What can we expect from your performance?

It will be beautiful, fragile and a little on the verge of bursting all the time. We work a lot to emphasize the feeling and message in the song without taking focus from it.

Do you follow Eurovision and have you a favorite song from the contest?

Yes I have always watched the Melodifestivalen and Eurovision. Two who really made an impression are Loreen and Conchita Wurst. Wow what women! With voices that made me lose my breath.

And any other plans for 2021? What can we expect from Lovad after Melodifestivalen?

It’s uncertain because of our pandemic. But I see in front of me that during the year I will release an album, and maybe go on a tour here in Sweden

I the end, I want to thank you for you time and please, if you have a message for your fans and our readers here on ESCBubble?

What I want to say is that, I’m so glad we can do this together after such a difficult year. At the end of the day we are all human, we feel joy, sorrow and we live. I hope my song will find its way into your hearts the same way it is in mine.
