Samanta Tina’s Eurovision entry chosen among 11 songs!

As we informed you earlier Latvian broadcaster LTV prepared a special show “Ka Uzvaret Eirovizija (Samantas Tinas Cels Uz Roterdamu)” translated to How To Win Eurovision – Samanta Tina’s Road To Rotterdam to showcase Samanta Tina’s Eurovision journey the first episode of it aired last night and the show will be going for five weeks and those five episodes will eventually lead us to the new Latvian entry every Friday from 12th February, for five weeks.

About the song Samanta said:”I wasn’t looking for a standard Eurovision classic! I wanted  to have that surprise, the craziness. I wanted the song to have something glorifying so that everyone knows it’s Latvia when we come out!”

The song was selected among the 11 compositions which were written at a songwriting camp, then evaluated and analyzed by all participants of it in the end four suggestions which teams merged created the Latvian entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2021. To inspire both herself and the team, Samanta Tina sent them music of the band “Prodigy”, DJ David Guetta, and new songs by Spanish singer Rosalia. Samanta also used the expertise of former Latvian Eurovision representatives during that camp, of course Aminata Savadogo (Latvia 2015) who was also the one behind “Still Breathing”, Kārlis Būmeistars member of Walter and Kazha (Latvia 2005) and Agnese Cimuška-Rekke, the head of the Latvian Music Export Association said the following

When an artist goes on stage, there are basically three things they can use to get the attention of the listener. First is to create a show; The show costs a lot of money, and the most common show is the one that provides 50% of the success. The second one is a charismatic performer with a great vocal and, of course, the third one is the song itself. If all three elements are there, we can say that is a successful start, but if one of those components is missing, then it is quite difficult to compete with a country that has all three of them. ”
Agnese Cimuška-Rekke, the head of the Latvian Music Export Association

The first episode is available on the link HERE! Each Friday an episode will be airing at 20:00 CET available on LTV1 and REPLAY.lv.
