As a guest in the show “Laba Diena, Lietuva”, the head of the Lithuanian delegation, Audrius Giržadas, revealed the details of the upcoming recording to the backup performance of “Discoteque” by The Roop, who won this years edition of Pabandom iš Naujo.The backup performance will be filmed next week at the Avia Solutions Group arena.

I don’t know if a stage of this size has ever been built in Lithuania for a concert of Lithuanian performers, with so many LED screens, lighting and equipment.

The size of the stage is going to be similar to the one in Rotterdam for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Audrius added that this live on tape performance is relevant until the second rehearsal in Rotterdam takes place, because if the performers already appear for the second rehearsal, then this recorded performance becomes a backup record. So, if The Roop were to go to Rotterdam and perform live, they could publish the performance filmed in Vilnius immediately after the general rehearsal – for example on the evening of 17th or 18th of May. Lithuania is among the favourites to win the show according to the odds and when the hosts asked Audrius  whether Lithuania would be able to organise the contest if The Roop won, he said that they will have where to do it and they’ll know what to do but that their biggest headache would be the funding of it.
