Manizha plans to add more English lyrics to her entry for Eurovision 2021!

Manizha has won the Russian national selection which was broadcast on Monday 8th of March with the song “Russian Woman” receiving 39.7% of the total votes. Recently Manizha had an interview for mk.ru where she revealed more about her song and the plans she has for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2021.

I don’t put anything straightforward (in this song). First of all, I’m talking about the beauty that every Russian woman has. Idea: Russian women have their own way, individual, just like Russia itself, and this whole song, like a collage, is collected from different nationalities and cultures, there are Russian folk motifs, and Eastern, and Israeli, and Balkan. This song reflects my essence as much as possible, because I am a very multi-ethnic person inside, I speak three languages, and for some time of my life I was very shy about it. And now I am not ashamed of it. On the contrary, you need to be as you are in life as much as possible, and then everything will work out.

Manizha wrote the song on 8th of March 2020 and the first time she performed it was a year later. She composed her Eurovision entry together with Ori Avni and  Ori Kaplan  who is a co-producer of “Talk Dirty” by Jason Derulo and “Worth It” Fifth Harmony, in addition to that his saxophone samples can be heard on the feature length animated movie “Home” by DreamWorks. About the plans of revamp for “Russian Woman” Manizha also had something to say.

There are also English lines (Every Russian woman needs to know), but we will refine it a little, add a few sentences in English, but in such way that they are understandable to everyone. It is important for me to preserve the Russian language. I sing in English myself and I understand how cool it is. But when I watch Eurovision, I always think how cool it is to sing in the native language. As Portugal did with Salvador Sobral, and Serbia with Maria Šerifović.
