Max Barskih wants to represent Ukraine in Eurovision 2022!

Ukrainian superstar, and the runner-up of the Ukrainian national selection from 2012, Max Barskih, is set to represent his home country in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest.

Max Barskih is a very well-known singer-songwriter in Ukraine. He tried to represent his home country in Eurovision twice as a singer (in 2010 with “White Raven” and in 2012 with “Dance” when he finished in second place, three points behind the eventual winner – Gaitana), and once as a composer – he wrote Tayanna’s song “I Love You” in 2017 which tied for first place with O. Torvald, but eventually lost in the tie-break.

Max’s brand new song “Bestseller” which is a collaboration with Zivert (Russian singer and model) topped the charts in Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and is also in the top 10 in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Moldova. It also has almost 10 million views on Youtube since it was released one week ago. Max says that “Bestseller” is  a cyberpunk story of loneliness. He added:

The modern world is rapidly losing tactility, people voluntarily digitize their feelings and emotions, exchanging them for likes and ratings on social networks. Hundreds of thousands of photographs today replace the touch and warmth of a kiss. The clip has a deep social connotation, in which a person is totally absorbed by technology, and virtual life has replaced reality.

Max has been the top pick for Eurovision amongst fans from Ukraine for years, and with the success of “Bestseller”, he also expressed his desire to represent his home country in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest.
