Lithuanian Music Awards M.A.M.A. – Muzikos Asociacijos Metų Apdovanojimai (Music Association of the Year Awards) is an award ceremony which is held each year since 2012 at Zalgiris arena in Kaunas, last nights ceremony was hosted by actors Inga Jankauskaitė and Vidas Bareikis and the awards were given in 16 categories, The Roop managed to snatch 4 prizes in the following categories:
- Band of the Year
- Breakthrough of the year
- Pop Band of the Year
- Song of the Year (On Fire)
You can watch The Roop on the red carpet HERE. Unlike other years when there was audience present this year only the nominees were invited to it because of the pandemic. The MAMA awards ceremony was very commented yesterday in the Lithuania, given the fact some people were outraged that the event took place, and there was a debate on social media. Recently the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture has recommended The Roop be prioritised for vaccination ahead of Eurovision 2021.
If we go unvaccinated to the competition, we will have to be tested constantly, which does not provide any protection, so we would spend a lot of time isolating with protection. The vaccine would allow to communicate more freely with the media and continue to spread its message.
