San Marino to stage National Final next year

San Marinese broadcaster RTV have announced that they will hold a National Final next year to choose their song for next year’s Eurovision.

‘Una voce per San Marino’ which translates as ‘A voice for San Marino’ will select the San Marinese representative for 2022. The national selection has been revealed by the Secretariat of State for Tourism in a calendar of events for the next year.

No details regarding the format of the selection have been revealed, only that the show will choose who will represent San Marino at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest. The selection is scheduled to take place in November this year, indicating the song for Eurovision will be determined at a later date.

San Marino first took part in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. The country returned in 2011, and they have selected their entry internally every year apart from in 2018 when they used the ‘1 in 360’ competition.

San Marino has qualified twice out of 10 attempts, with their best result in 2019 when the country came 19th in the final with Serhat’s ‘Say na na na’.
