Steps to collaborate with Dotter and Lina Hedlund on their upcoming album What The Future Holds Pt. 2

It will be 25 years next year, since britpop band Steps stormed to the charts with their techno-pop single ‘5, 6, 7, 8’,  written by Barry Upton and Steve Crosby. Last year the group announced a release of their sixth studio album, ‘What The Future Holds‘, which was released through BMG and received a huge success, successfully charting at the No. 2 at the UK Album Charts.

Claire Richards, Lee Latchford-Evans, Ian Watkins, Faye Tozer-Smith and Lisa Scott-Lee, known as Steps, had a busy months behind them, promoting their album What The Future Holds, which also featured a popular Eurovision-related track ‘Something In Your Eyes‘, which was originally performed by Swedish singer Jenny Silver, at the Melodifestivalen 2011.

Steps performed ‘Something in Your Eyes’ at the Royal Variety Performance, a televised variety show, held annually in the United Kingdom to raise money for the Royal Variety Charity (of which Queen Elizabeth II is life-patron). Earlier this year they also teamed up with former member of dance-pop band Seduction and RuPaul’s Drag Race judge panel member, Michelle Visage and released a song ‘Heartbreak in This City‘, which reached more than half a million views on YouTube in less than a week since it’s release.

They’ve also announced a brand new album ‘What The Future Holds Pt.2‘, which will include 10 brand new songs, including the duet version of Heartbreak in This City with Michelle Visage – the album is now able to preorder here and will be out on September 10th.

Their brand new album will also feature some Eurovision composers, including Swedish Eurovision composer Thomas G:Son, who also composed ‘Something in Your Eyes’ and will be featured on the album with the song ‘Living a Lie‘.

Steps also teamed with another Melodifestivalen favourite – Dotter (Melfest 2020, 2021) and Richard Edwards, Dino Medanhodzic & Melanie Wehbe, as they’re about to release a cover of Lina Hedlund’s Victorious on their album, as well. It’s not known yet, if the song will be released as a single, or album-only.
