Destiny performed the Maltese version of “Je Me Casse”!

The 7th placed artist at Eurovision Song Contest 2021 and the winner of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, Destiny Chukunyere has made an appearance in a Maltese show “Serataron” and as a part of a game in the show she had a task to perform her Eurovision entry “Je Me Casse” in Maltese language. The title of it was “Ċaw u Bye” (Ciao and Bye) you can check the performance on the FOLLOWING LINK or below.

Even though Destiny didn’t reach the top 3 as predicted by the bookies, with the 7th place she got, Destiny managed to give Malta their best result at the contest since Eurovision 2005 when Chiara ended as runner up of the show with “Angel”. You can check her performance in the final below

After performance of “Ċaw u Bye” Eurovision fans are starting to wonder if Malta could send any Maltese songs at Eurovision anytime soon – the only time those songs were performed at the Eurovision stage were at the first two appearances of Malta when Joe Grech performed the song “Marija l-Maltija” in 1971 and the following year when the Maltese flag was waved by Helen & Joseph with “L-imħabba” both entries ended the contest on last places in the years they competed. The closest Malta was to send a song in Maltese in recent editions of Eurovision was back in 2017 when “Kewkba” (Star) performed by Janice Mangion ended as runner up having only 452 less than the winning entry “Breathlessly” by Claudia Faniello.
