Efendi: “It was the first time we saw each other, she shouted Efendi, Mata Hari….!”

She’s still like Cleopatra, but this year Efendi is taking on the role of Mata Hari at Eurovision 2021.  After the 2020 cancellation she made sure we still got some stomping ethno tinged pop and ‘Mata Hari’ is ticking all the boxes again.

Nick caught up with her after first rehearsals to find out how it felt to be on the Eurovision stage at last, the blossoming friendship between her and Israel’s Eden Alene plus we found out what career she’d like to pursue if she wasn’t a singer.

Efendi is performing in the 14th slot in Semi Final 1 on 18th May, You can catch snippets of her first rehearsal below:
