Daði og Gagnamagnið band member tests positive for Covid

Daði Freyr has today reported that a member of his band Gagnamagnid has tested positive for Covid.

Writing on Facebook, Daði said:

A member of @gagnamagnid got a positive test result this morning.

Unfortunately this probably means that we will not take part in the rehearsal today or live show tomorrow and a recording from our second rehearsal will be used in stead.

We have all been extremely careful the whole trip so this comes as a huge surprise. We are very happy with the performance and super excited for you all to see it! Thank you for all the love ❤️

Due to the Covid rules that have been put in place this now means that Daði og Gagnamagnið will not perform both at this evening’s dress rehearsal or in tomorrow’s semi final, however a recording from the band’s second dress rehearsal will be used instead. It’s also uncertain if the band will be able to perform live at the Grand Final on Saturday if they qualify.

We reported on Sunday how a member of the Icelandic delegation had also tested positive, meaning that the band were unable to attend the Opening ceremony. This was in addition to a member of the Polish delegation also testing positive for Covid.

On behalf of all of us at ESC Bubble, we hope that the delegation and band member get well soon.
