San Marino First Rehearsal – Eurovision 2021: Senhit – Adrenalina
Good morning and welcome back to ESCBubble’s coverage for Eurovision 2021! Over the weekend we brought you all the updates of the first semi finalists rehearsing. It seems to have flown by, but we’re already over to the second semi final! Today we will have the first nine competing in the semi final two
As always, you can check out our ongoing coverage through both our Live Rehearsal Blog and also rolling daily updates on our Twitter Account.
If you are avoiding potential rehearsal spoilers then don’t read any further! Semi Final Two will take place at 21.00 CET on Thursday 20th May 2021 with sixteen countries competing for ten qualifying spots for the final.
First up this morning to rehearse is one of the most hotly anticipated rehearsals of the year. Will Flo Rida appear!? It’s time to find out with… San Marino!

First Rehearsal
As expected, there is a LOT going on here!! Senhit starts the performance with what looks crossed between a shrine and the grandfather clock from Beauty & Beast, however that soon gets whipped off and she’s joined on stage by 4 male dancers wearing pink/nude gimp masks. There’s also a lazy susan, like in the music video, and she spends most of the first verse lying on the floor whilst the gimp-masked dancers dance around her.
Backdrop is an influx of sensory overload & rainbow colours — with her bubblegum colour scheme in the music video also getting a show in. However, when Flo Rida (ok, sorry all it was a Fake Rida) joins for the rap section they move to the satellite stage. The vocals actually sound fantastic and Senhit is a natural performer – ad libbing from the get. It’s a shame there won’t be a huge audience to jump around to this because that is definitely the reaction it would’ve had.
Is it a bit messy? Yes. But does Senhit knock it out of the park? Definitely! Having a stand-in for Flo Rida’s rap makes me excited that we may well have Flo Rida on stage for the actual show performances. Perhaps a question that should get asked at the press conference meet & greet later!
Before Eurovision
San Marino are always a bit of a wildcard at the Eurovision Song Contest, with the microstate a clear fan favourite in an underdog kind of way! However, you could be mistaken for thinking they are the underdog this year as Senhit gives us “Adrenalina” and is the highest they’ve ever been in the bookmakers odds! Last year, Senhit was internally selected to come back to avenge her non-qualification in 2011 with ballad “Stand By”. She’s ditched the ballad scene, between last years “Freaky” and this years song – she’s very much in the high energy performance lane!
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the year was when Senhit announced a surprise when dropping the song… and the surprise ended up being that international hit star rapper Flo Rida, who has dominated the charts globally with his presence in the past decade or so, so him turning up at the Eurovision stage to compete for one of Europe’s smallest nations would certainly be a moment for the history books.
