German broadcaster in charge of their participation at Junior Eurovision Song Contest – KiKA has opened the application window for the young singers interested to take part at their national selection by the name “Junior ESC – Wer fährt nach Paris?” (Junior ESC – Who goes to Paris).
All singers aged between 9 and 14 years old can apply by filling in the application form available on the link HERE. The deadline is 25th of June. In case interested young talents have more questions the answers could be found on the KiKA website HERE. In the next stage the judges panel will decide on five singers who will be invited to KiKA studios somewhere between 15th and 25th of July in order to produce their clip. By the end of July the voting for the audience favourites will be opened and three acts which receive the highest amount of votes will qualify to the final of the show which is set to take place on 10th of September in Erfurt.
Germany made their debut at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with “Stronger with You” performed by Susan. The song received just 66 points which placed her on the last, 12th place. You can check the performance below
The countries which confirmed their participation at Junior Eurovision 2021 so far are Germany, France, The Netherlands, Russia, Ireland ,Georgia. Poland, Spain and Portugal who has also selected their entrant for the contest. Albania will make their decision in June while Iceland, Bulgaria, Norway,Finland, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, Wales, Czech Republic and Belgian broadcaster VRT confirmed they won’t be taking part at the show. The contest will take place on 19th of December in Paris.
