Greta Salóme released a new song!

Icelandic singer and songwriter,  participant of Eurovision Song Contest 2012 and 2016, Greta Salóme Stefánsdóttir has released a new song titled Svartur Hrafn (eng: Black Raven) the song is part of an EP Greta is currently working on.

“Black raven has a little confusing lyrics and can be about a person or an object that you seek but which may be yours only for a short time. We often go for what we know is not for us and can not get rid of it no matter what we try. Everyone can relate to it in some way, “
Greta Salóme for Visir about the song.

She is the author of both lyrics and music. Recently, Greta has worked on many projects abroad and performed all over the world, but due to the pandemic she has been in Iceland working on her new music. Greta appeared at the Eurovision Song Contest twice, in 2012 she sang “Never Forget” with Jónsi and they ended on 20th place while on her second attempt she performed “Hear Them Calling” which didn’t manage to qualify to the final and the song ended on 14th place in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2016

“The song was composed at home in my studio in Mosó, but then I took it to John-Emil Johansson, a Swedish producer who I have been working with a bit this year. We then finished arranging and producing the song together just over zoom as he was out in Spain working and I in Iceland. ” Greta adds about the working process on the making of the “Svartur Hrafn”.
