Maltese X Factor returns for a third season!

On the official Instagram page of X Factor Malta it was announced that the show will be back for it’s third edition.

The previous two editions of the show were held in 2018/2019 and 2019/2020. The first season was won by Michela Pace who represented Malta at Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with “Chameleon” while the second season was won by Destiny Chukunyere who was set to represent Malta at Eurovision 2020 with “All of My Love” before the contest got cancelled but it was later on confirmed that she will remain the artist to represent the country at Eurovision 2021, after that it has been revealed that “Je Me Casse” would be her entry at the contest. Destiny ended the contest on 7th place with 255 points you can check out her performance below.

PBS has yet to state whether X Factor Malta will be used in order to select the artist which will represent the island at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Prior to X Factor Malta the method used to select their entrant at the contest was a national selection Malta Song Festival or as it’s better known as Malta Eurovision Song Contest (MESC). The last time when the show was used to select their entrant was back in 2018 when Christabelle Borg won the selection with “Taboo“.
