Moldova won’t be making their return at Junior Eurovision 2021!

On behalf of Moldovan broadcaster TRM, Mr. Cojocaru has revealed to Eurofestivales that Moldova won’t be making their return at Junior Eurovision 2021. He didn’t state any precise reason why Moldova won’t be making their return to the contest at which they participated on 4 occasions from 2010 to 2013 before they decided to withdrew from it in 2014 due to the financial reasons. The best result Moldova had at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was at their second appearance in 2011 when the song “No, no” by Lerika reached 6th place with 78 points. At their debut in 2010, Moldova ended the show at 8th place with 54 points with “Ali Baba” by Ștefan Roșcovan. In 2012 when Denis Midone sang “Toate vor fi“they finished at 10th place out of 12 acts with 52 points and at their last appearance they were represented by Rafael Bobeica who sang “Cum să fim“.

The countries which confirmed their participation at Junior Eurovision 2021 so far are GermanyFranceThe NetherlandsRussia, Ireland ,Georgia. Poland and Portugal who has also selected their entrant for the contest. Albania will make their decision in June while Austria, EstoniaLatviaDenmarkIceland, Bulgaria, Norway, Finland, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, WalesCzech Republic and Belgian broadcaster VRT confirmed they won’t be taking part at the show. The contest will take place on 19th of December in Paris following the victory of French representative Valentina with J’imagine.
