The radio and television of the Republic of San Marino (San Marino RTV ) has confirmed that they will not be taking part at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021. The head of the San Marino delegation, Alessandro Capicchioni, has confirmed to ESCplus.
San Marino made their debut at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 when Michele Perniola sang “OoO sole intorno a me” which lead them to their best finish at the contest – 10th place. In 2014 The Pepermints performed “Breaking My Heart” and their last appearance was at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 when Kamilla Ismailova’s song “Mirror” ended the show on 14th place. In 2016, they withdrew from the show without giving any particular explanation or reason for doing so. You can check out their last performance at Junior Eurovision below
The countries which confirmed their participation at Junior Eurovision 2021 so far are Ukraine, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Russia, Ireland ,Georgia. Poland and Portugal who has also selected their entrant for the contest. Albania is expected to make their decision by the end of this month while broadcasters from Slovakia, Moldova, Austria, Estonia, Latvia, Denmark, Iceland, Bulgaria, Norway, Finland, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, Wales, Czech Republic as well as Belgian broadcaster VRT confirmed they won’t be taking part at the show. The contest will take place on 19th of December in Paris .
