The winner of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 and the country which hosted the show on two occasions back in 2009 and 2013, Ukraine has confirmed their participation at this years edition of the show. The press department of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (UA: PBC) has confirmed to Eurofestivales that they will be participating.
Last year Ukraine has organised a national selection where out of 11 finalists the audience and judges voted for the one which they like the most and the winner of the selection was Oleksandr Balabanov with the song “Vidkryvai”. At the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020, Ukraine received 106 points which placed them on 7th place. You can watch the performance below
The countries which confirmed their participation at Junior Eurovision 2021 so far are Germany, France, The Netherlands, Russia, Ireland ,Georgia. Poland and Portugal who has also selected their entrant for the contest. Albania is expected to make their decision by the end of this month while broadcasters from Slovakia, Moldova, Austria, Estonia, Latvia, Denmark, Iceland, Bulgaria, Norway, Finland, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, Wales, Czech Republic as well as Belgian broadcaster VRT confirmed they won’t be taking part at the show. The contest will take place on 19th of December in Paris .
