Song submissions open for Czech Republic

Broadcaster Czech Television has today released details of how you can send song submissions to represent Czech Republic at next year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

Writing today on their Official Facebook page, Eurovision Song Contest Czech Republic, the page announced:

We ask all those interested in participating in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 national round to prepare their songs for submission during September 2021. Compositions may be in the form of demos, masters are not necessary at this stage…

The deadline for submitting songs will be 30th September this year, and the submission form should be sent no later than 17th September, which can be found at www.ceskatelevize.cz/eurovize

The post continues:

– You are allowed to send more than one song from the same artist

– Songs sent MUST NOT BE POSTED IN ANY FORM OR PUBLICLY PRESENTED BEFORE 1.9.2021. If the registered song was published or presented publicly before 1.9.2021, it will be disqualified.
– Lead singer, i.e. the main vocalist of the recording must hold Czech citizenship (in case of duet at least one of the main vocalists must meet this condition)

Although Czech Republic are now looking for a song and artist and are highly likely to take part next year, the country still needs to confirm their participation.

Czech Republic first took part in the Eurovision in 2007, with their most successful placing coming in 2018 when they placed 6th in the Grand Final with ‘Lie to Me’

Below you can see Mikolas Josef perform the song, aswell as our interview with this year’s participant Benny Cristo
