The dates of Melodi Grand Prix 2022 are out!

The dates of next year’s Melodi Grand Prix (MGP), the Norwegian national selection for Eurovision, are out. Just like in 2020 and 2021, the shows of MGP 2022 will be held in six Saturdays. The first partial race will take place in January 15th 2022 and the final of MGP 2022 will be held in February 19th 2022.

In 2020 the semifinals came back to Melodi Grand Prix after five year’s absence. The first Melodi Grand Prix was held in 1960, and after that it has been held to choose the Norwegian entry for Eurovision almost every year. There have been only three years when MGP has not been held: in 1970, 1991 and 2002.

As we can remember, in 2021 MGP was won by TIX and his song Fallen Angel. The song represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam and qualified to the final. Norway finished 18th in the Grand Final of Eurovision 2021 with 75 points.
