Balkan legend and four-time Eurovision lyricist Marina Tucaković died at the age of 67

One of the most well known lyricists in the Balkan region, Marina Tucaković, died in Belgrade today at the age of 67.

During her career, she wrote many hits for the biggest stars in the former Yugoslavia, including artists like Zdravko Čolić, Željko Joksimović, Tereza Kesovija, Toše Proseki, Magazin, Severina, Kaliopi, and lots of others.

She wrote the lyrics for many entries in Beovizija – Serbia’s national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. One of the most famous ones being Ana Nikolić’s entry in 2006 – “Romale Romali”.

When it comes to Eurovision, she was selected as the lyricst of all three songs for Serbia’s national final in 2010, which was eventually won by Milan Stanković and the song “Ovo je Balkan”. Apart from that one, Marina also wrote the lyrics of the Serbian Eurovision entries in 2012 – “Nije ljubav stvar”, 2013 – “Ljubav je svuda”, as well as Montenegro’s Eurovision entry in 2015 – “Adio”.
