Sad news coming from Armenia this morning, as the second-ever Armenian Eurovision entrant Hayko Hakobyan has died today, at the age of 44.
The information about Hayko’s death was confirmed by Shushan Danielyan, the head of the staff of Mkhitar Heratsi Medical University of Yerevan, as well as the information that he was positive to COVID-19.
Hayko won the first ever Armenian national final, and won the right to represent his country at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki with “Anytime You Need”. He ended up in 8th place in the Grand Final with a total of 138 points.
