RTS has just revealed the duo Joana (10 years) and Dunja (11 years) from Novi Sad will represent Serbia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021. The girls will perform the song Children’s Eyes written by Ana Frlin on 19 December in Paris.
Earlier this year, the Serbian broadcaster launched a call for songs and artists to find the act that will carry the country’s flag at La Seine Musicale. After a deliberation of RTS’ team and music experts, they decided Joana and Dunja will follow Petar Aničić‘s footsteps on the big stage at Junior Eurovision.
The selection process was made up of three different stages. In the first one, the jury panel listened to all the songs received and selected four entries. Then, the chosen performers were invited to deliver their songs live at studio 6 of RTS in Belgrade. One of the candidates was eliminated and the three remaining performances were listened to by the experts, who rated them with 3, 2 and 1 stars. The song with the most points was Children’s Eyes performed by Jovana Radonić and Dunja Živković, and written by Ana Frlin. The other three selected songs were:
- Smile by Tara Šujeranović – Music: Filip Trajanovski/Lyrics: Ana Maglica and Tara Šujeranović
- Dream Child by Sara Simić and Tomislav Božović – Music and lyrics: Bojana Mašković
- U dobru i u zlu by Veljko Kovačević – Music and lyrics: Veljko Kovačević and Branimir Marković
Children’s Eyes will be premiered by the end of October, how much are you looking forward to it?
