The second edition of Het Grote Songfestivalfeest was supposed to take place on the 9th of December in Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, where more than 25 former Eurovision entrants were going to perform Eurovision hits. Due to the COVID restrictions implemented by the Dutch government, the organizers of this concert have just announced its cancellation.
Cornald Maas & Edsilia Rombley were announced as the hosts of this year’s show, and no less than 25 Eurovision acts were set to perform, including Eurovision winners Carola, Johnny Logan, Loreen, Lordi, Marija Šerifović, Netta, Sandra Kim and Sertab Erener. The organizers have made the following statement on their website and their Facebook page:
With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the cancellation of Het Grote Songfestivalfeest on the 9th of December 2021. We know that this will come as an enormous disappointment. This is not a decision we have taken lightly, but the new government regulations give us no other choice.
Please give us some time to process all of this. We will get back to you at the end of this week with more information about a possible new date and/or refund.
We hope to see you again soon!
