The Icelandic broadcaster will air the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 pre-recorded on the main channel according to their timetable on their official website. Iceland and Finland are the only Nordic countries that have never taken part in Junior Eurovision. The last country that competed at EBU’s show for kids was Sweden in 2014, also the Nordic country with the most number of editions. Norway and Denmark competed at the first edition, where Denmark was also the founder of the contest, but later withdrew because of the format of the show. Sweden stayed a little bit longer, they withdrew for a year in 2008 and came back in 2009 to ultimately withdraw in 2015.

Does this mean we will see Iceland’s debut next year? Would you like to see the country compete at Junior Eurovision 2022?
