Irish entry for Junior Eurovision 2021 will be released tomorrow!

A month ago Ireland has selected Maiú Levi Lawlor as their representative for Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Today we got news regarding the release of their entry with the title “Saor” which translates to Free. The song will be released tomorrow.

The team behind the song consists out of Irish/Maltese authors with connections to Eurovision and Junior Eurovision. Niall Mooney (co-writer of Ireland 2010 and 2019); Lauren White Murphy; Brendan McCarthy; LA Halvey (former member of Black Daisy – Ireland 2009) band who represented Ireland at Eurovision 2009 with Sinead Mulvey); Irish representative at Junior Eurovision 2019, Anna Kearney; Anna Banks, sister of Aimee Banks, first Irish representative at Junior Eurovision in 2015 and Maltese songwriter, Cyprian Cassar co-writer of Maltese JESC entries in 2018 and 2021.

This will be the sixth Irish participation at the Junior Eurovision, their best result was back in 2016 when Zena Donnelly with “Bríce ar bhríce” reached 10th place. The release of “Saor” is set for 12:00 CET with the premiere of its music video on the TG4 YouTube page.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 is going to take place on 19th of December at La Seine Musicale with the total of 19 competing countries:
