Over 200 applications for “Una Voce Per San Marino”!

In September we informed you about the changed procedure of Sammarinese selection procedure for Eurovision Song Contest as they are going for the national final for the second time. They have revealed that over 200 songs were submitted for the emerging artists (emergenti) category for “Una Voce Per San Marino” as well as the names of first four jury members: Roberta Faccani, Steve Lyon, Emilio Munda and Roberto Costa.

  • Roberta Faccani – Italian singer and artist which performed in musical theatre shows Pinocchio, Rent, Alice in Wonderland. In addition to that Roberta was the lead singer the band Matia Bazar.
  • Steve Lyon – British producer and sound engineer and producer who collaborated with The Cure, Depeche Mode and Sir Paul McCartney. He also worked with Italian artists who took part at Sanremo: Laura Pausini and Marco Guazzone.
  • Emilio Munda – Italian composer, producer and songwriter who has written songs for many Italian artists, including Nina Zilli and Il Volo.
  • Roberto Costa – Italian bassist, sound engineer and producer. He cooperated with several Italian artists including Luca Barbarossa (Italian representative at Eurovision 1988)

The next phase is scheduled from 13th to 19th of December and 5th to 11th of January when all the applicants will be evaluated by the jury. Then the 4 semi-finals as well as the second chance round are going to be held during 5 consecutive evenings from 9th to 13th of February at Teatro Titano in San Marino City. Only jury will decide which 18 artists will be advancing to the Grand Final scheduled for 19th of February at Teatro Nuovo in Dogana. The full rules are available HERE.

The previous time San Marino organised a national selection was back in 2018 with a live final in Bratislava which was won by Jessika and Jenifer Brening with the song “Who We Are”. On all other occasions the selection was done internally. At Eurovision Song Contest 2021, San Marino was represented by Senhit who performed “Adrenalina” together with Flo Rida. They ended the contest on 22nd place with 50 points. You can watch their performance below.
