The Czech national selection to start on the 7th of December!

The national final season starts this week with Estonia’s first quarter-final of Eesti Laul, but we will be getting the first Eurovision act from  the Czech Republic. The submission period for entering ESCZ, the Czech national selection, ended on the 30th of September, and now ČT has confirmed to us that the finalists of ESCZ will be announced in a special press conference on the 6th of December. One day later, the voting will start as well.

Pre-selection jury has listened through all of the submitted entries, and selected the best ones to proceed to this year’s Czech national final. The names of the finalists, as well as their songs, will be revealed in a special press conference on the 6th of December, whilst one day later on the 7th of December, ČT will open the voting lines for both the Czech public and for the international fans as well.

The voting will end on the 15th of December, and the full results will be made public on the 16th of December. As we reported earlier as well, the winner is going to be selected by a mix of international jury votes (50% of the results), Czech public (25% of the results) and the international public (25% of the results).

Benny Cristo won the last ESCZ back in 2020 with “Kemama”, and he went on to represent the Czech Republic in 2021 as well, with “Omaga”. Unfortunately he failed to reach the final in Rotterdam.
