17 songs in the final of Festivali i Kenges, entries can be performed in English!
The 60th edition of Festivali i Kenges is starting in a few hours. Over the course of three shows, we will find out who will be the successor of Anxhela Peristeri, and who will go on to represent Albania in Eurovision 2022 in Turin.
In tonight’s first show, the 20 competing artists are going to perform their songs. Six of those 20 – the newcomers, will be judged by a jury based on their performance tonight. Tomorrow’s evening will be a “nostalgic” evening, where the competing acts, along side other Albanian musicians will play traditional FiK songs. Also, this will be the night when we will say goodbye to three of the six newcomers.
The newcomers in this year’s edition are Eldis Arrnjeti, Ester Zahiri, Kejsi Rrustja, Olimpia Smajlaj, Viola Xhemali and Xhuli Pjetraj.
The third and the Final night on the 29th of December will be a Eurovision evening, where for the first time ever, the participants will get a chance to perform their songs in English, if they wish to do so. During this evening, the jury will vote for the best of the 17 songs, and choose Albania’s entry in Eurovision 2022.
