North Macedonia to choose their entry for Eurovision 2022 in a national final!

MRT, the national broadcaster of North Macedonia have just announced that after 6 internal selections, they will organize a national final once again, where the Macedonian entry for Eurovision 2022 in Turin will be selected!

MRT started an open call for songs, where all interested parties can send their songs in until the 16th of January. The call for songs is open for all composers may be from abroad, but all artists must have the citizenship of North Macedonia, and they should submit the final version of the songs. Towards the end of January, a pre-selection jury will listen through all of the submitted songs, and select no more than six songs to enter the national final. The winner, and North Macedonia’s entry for Eurovision 2022 will then be decided by a mix of televoting, and international jury votes.

Full rules of the submission process can be found via this link (click).

The last time North Macedonia had a national final was back in 2015, when Daniel Kajmakovski won Skopje Fest with “Lisja jesenski”, which was later translated into English as “Autumn Leaves” for the Contest in Vienna. He unfortunately failed to qualify for the Grand Final.
