Spanish national broadcaster RTVE has just confirmed on their Twitter account that the 12 participants competing in next year’s edition of Benidorm Fest will be announced in a special press conference on the 10th of December!
At 10am CET on the 10th of December, the Spanish Head of Delegation Eva Mora, together with the Head of Communication of RTVE – María Eizaguirre, will announce the names of the 12 participants of Benidorm Fest, one of which will go on to represent Spain in Eurovision 2022. RTVE confirms that they decided to priorities good and competitive songs, instead of names of artists, when selecting the contestants.
There are lots of rumors going around about who is going to be competing, including artists like Amor Romeira, Rayden, Ladilla Rusa, Rigoberta Bandini, Salva Ortega, and others.
The last time Benidorm Fest was held was back in 2006, when it was won by La Década Prodigiosa – the band which represented Spain in Eurovision in 1988, only with different band members. This festival returns in January 2022 with two semi finals, and a Final, with the exact dates yet to be announced.
