Dora draw to take place on 24th January!

The draw for Dora, Croatia’s national final, will take place live on the HRT1 show Kod nas doma on 24th January 2022.

The draw will be done by the host of the show, Barbara Kolar, and Branimir Mihaljević, the composer of Albina’s 2021 Dora winner and Eurovision entry Tick-Tock, as well as Franka’s Crazy (2018) and Femminem’s Lako je sve (2010).

The 14 acts for Dora 2022 were announced by HRT on 17 December 2021, and the list contains several returning acts from previous years, including Mia Negovetić, Bernarda, Eric Vidović and Tina Vukov.

The show itself, the 22nd edition of the national final, is due to take place on Saturday 19th February 2022. The song release date is not known yet.

Croatia would love to build some momentum before Turin, as they have failed to qualify for the final since 2017, when Jacques Houdek came 12th in Kyiv with his split-personality ballad My Friend.

Last year, after defeating Nina Kraljić and Bernarda in a hotly-contested show, Albina went to Rotterdam with high hopes of qualification, but, despite coming in the top 10 with both the jury and televote with Tick-Tock, narrowly missed out on the grand final by 5 points to Norway, and TIX’s Fallen Angel. She won the independently-run Kate Ryan Award for the Best Non-Qualifier after the Contest.
