Germany reveals new show “ESC vor acht”

In November it has been revealed that Germany will be using a national final to select their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. A week ago we informed you about some news and now it’s official – “Germany 12 points” is set to be held on 4th of March. The songs and the participants will be revealed from 10th of February. Starting at 11.00 CET on a press conference Germany will reveal the competing acts at their national selection. The host of ESC Songcheck, Alina Stiegler will be the moderator of it and the press conference will be broadcast at eurovision.de. “Germany 12 points” will be taking place in Berlin, it is expected to feature six acts and the show will be hosted by Barbara Schöneberger. Winner will be decided by online, SMS and phone voting.

The online voting to determine the German representative will start on Monday 28th of February and it will be open throughout the selection “Germany 12 points”. Ahead of it in order to promote the voting and reach bigger audience a short five minute program with the name “ESC vor acht” (Eurovision before 8 o’clock) will be broadcast on 19.45 on the following dates:

  • Monday, 21st of February
  • Tuesday, 22nd of February
  • Wednesday, 23rd of February
  • Thursday, 24th of February
  • Monday, 28th of February
  • Tuesday, 1st of March
  • Wednesday, 2nd of March
  • Thursday, 3rd of March

The press conference on which the competing acts of “Germany 12 points” is set to take place on 10th of February.One of the acts which submitted their song is Eskimo Callboy but it remains to be seen if they will be selected to compete for a chance to be Jendrik’s successor as German representative at Eurovision. “I Don’t Feel Hate” got them to the penultimate place with 3 points from the jury.
