Here is the fourth song of UMK 2022!

The fourth song of this year’s Uuden musiikin kilpailu (UMK) has been released. Listen to the song Sun numero (Your number) by Younghearted here:

Younghearted is a 2015 founded pop group, and the members of the band, Reeta Huotarinen (vocals), Atte Ranta (guitar) and Emil Korkiakoski (guitar), have known each other since high school. Younghearted released their first singles in 2015, and their debut album Nuorisydän (Young heart) came out in April 2016. Nuorisydän brought Younghearted platinum record and it reached 10 million streaming mark in September 2016. The second album of Younghearted, Vapaa (Free), came out in June 2019. The best-known songs of the band are Hetkeksi (For a moment) and Vaikeeta (Difficult).

According to Yle, the band tells that UMK is kind of like their comeback, since it’s been over two years since they published new music.

After some time away from the game, we’re coming back in a big way and with a new sound, says guitarist Emil Korkiakoski.

The band tells that their UMK entry Sun numero represents more daring Younghearted. The band that has been previously known for its sensitive interpretations, is now ”softly rock’n’roll”.

The song really shows the direction Younghearted is heading. Before, we had a more acoustic, smaller sound. Now, we’re going big right out of the gate, explains Korkiakoski.

Sun numero is a song about the more painful sides of love: longing, desperation and regret. Even though love is a very popular theme in music, vocalist Reeta Huotarinen wanted to take a fresh approach to this theme by looking it from a point of view of a remorseful person: when you regret breaking up, but your ex has already found someone else.
