Here is the seventh and final song of UMK 2022!

The seventh and final song of this year’s Uuden musiikin kilpailu (UMK) is now out. Listen to the song Kuuma jäbä (Hot dude) by Isaac Sene here:

Isaac Sene is a Finnish singer-songwriter, whose music is modern pop with some soul and jazz vibes. In his music he opens his daily emotions and tells stories of his own life and things happening around him. He also blends some imaginary worlds and stories to his realistic texts. Sene first came into the knowledge of the wider public, when his record Koko kansan EP (The EP of the whole nation) was released in 2020. In the songs of Koko kansan EP had some of the Finland’s most popular artists as a guest artists, like Vesta in the song Bébé.

According to Yle, the diversity of Sene’s music has its roots in his childhood, when his family listened many different kind of music styles, from Mozart to Bob Marley and from trance to Finnish hard rock. This is what Sene tells about his music to Yle.

My music is pretty pop-oriented, but I love to mix different genres. I’ve always loved rock – the same goes for rap.

Last year Isaac Sene released a couple of new singes, and the most known of them is the song N-sana (N-word), which is a song about Sene’s personal experiences of racism. According to Yle, even though N-sana has a strong message, Sene’s goal is to entertain his listeners and help them escape the workaday world. This is also how he describes his UMK entry Kuuma jäbä:

You might blush a bit listening to this song, but we don’t want to just shock people for the sake of shocking.

Sene has made his UMK entry together with producer Alvar Escart, a.k.a. Yrjänä. The collaboration between Sene and Yrjänä started when the Yrjänä heard Sene’s song Nälkä (Hunger) and fell in love with it. Isaac Sene is famous for his daring and charismatic performances, so we can expect a lot from him on UMK stage.
