Is Alina Stiegler the host of the German National Final?

The German National Final is slowly taking shape. While the participants remain a secret, it was earlier hinted that the National Final will take place in Berlin, in early March. Now there are speculations whether Alina Stiegler could be the host of the event.

Alina Stiegler is a TV host, originally from Berlin, who hosted several TV programmes on ARD and NDR but is probably best known for hosting the ESC Songcheck on eurovision.de.

Throughout the last years, Alina Stiegler has been very involved with the Eurovision Song Contest and attended the last few years live as a local reporter for NDR.

Alina now posted the following words on her Instagram account:

I’m not allowed to say where I am or what I’m doing here,

Except that many of you will be very excited about it

@eurovision.de

Oops

These words, in combination with tagging the official Eurovision.de Instagram account, make it very likely that Alina will be involved at Germany’s National Final. Many of her followers are already speculating about  what her role in the event could be. Given her experience as a TV host, it seems likely that Alina will in fact be a host of Unser Lied für Turin.

The last time Germany held a National Final was in 2019. The duo S!sters won Unser Lied für Israel with the song “Sister” and represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, where they received zero points from the televoting and finished in 25th place out of 26 finalists.

Do you think these clues are enough to prove that Alina Stiegler is among the hosts of the German preselction for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin? Who would you like to see host Unser Lied für Turin? Talk to us in the comments and on our social media profiles!
